The St. Paul
This River City is named after its home base. It will stay in St. Paul for the summer and then cruise to its gulf coast port in Port Isabel, Texas for the winter months — after the hurricane season is over! When spring arrives, the St. Paul will cruise back in time for summer in Minnesota.
From their summer mooring near the High Bridge in St. Paul, residents may walk to festivals on Harriet Island, plays on the Centennial Showboat and restaurants in downtown St. Paul. Residents who bicycle can take the Big Rivers Regional Trail from their doorstep to historic Mendota, Fort Snelling, Minnehaha Park and the Stone Arch Bridge in downtown Minneapolis. As is well known, St. Paul and Minneapolis are rich in cultural and entertainment opportunities. — Please note: River Cities is currently in discussion with the city of St. Paul for this site. Another Minnesota location will be chosen in the event of failure to obtain this site.
This community's winter port will be in Port Isabel, Texas. Port Isabel is a favorite destination of sunbirds in pursuit of a warm winter. Great golf and fishing opportunities surround the town which is located at the tip of South Padre Island. The cities of Brownsville and Harlingen are nearby, and the cultural diversity and fun of old Mexico are easily accessible.
